About
Most designers lean one way — intuitive creative or research-driven systematizer. I'm genuinely both: analytically wired and taste-driven — data-seeking, want to understand the real problem before touching Figma, and shaped by cinema, animation, and film photography. The tension is real, and it's what makes my work interesting.
I've been at GoFreight for almost ten years — long enough to build a design team from scratch, ship a full design system, and learn what it actually means to drive product direction without formal authority. B2B freight tools aren't glamorous, but the problems are real: high-stakes workflows, complicated data, decisions that ripple across entire organizations.
Co-founding HealYou taught me the other side of the table. When you're the one asking an engineer for two weeks of work, you learn fast which design decisions actually matter and which ones are just refinement. I can vibe-code small things now — there's something clarifying about understanding what it costs to build what you're designing.
Outside work, I shoot on film, watch a lot of animation and cinema, and occasionally make something. I wrote about the Iceland trip — what it meant, and why I went.

Analytical
I ask why before I open Figma.
Before any design decision, I want to understand the data, the constraint, the real problem underneath the stated one. I run experiments, track metrics post-launch, and get uncomfortable when I can't measure what changed. My Insights Discovery profile scores deep blue — the profile type that leads with logic and data before anything else.
Intuitive
Shaped by film, animation, and the grain of a photograph.
Gut feeling is where the interesting design decisions live — especially in zero-to-one work where the data doesn't exist yet. I trust taste as a tool, not a shortcut.

Experience
Lead Product Designer
2016 – PresentJoined as the sole designer at a freight forwarding SaaS startup. Over nine years, grew the design function from scratch — hiring, mentoring, and eventually leading a team of seven. Shipped core product modules including shipment tracking, document management, rate management, and AI-powered workflows.
Co-founder & Product Designer
2021 – PresentCo-founded an online mental health platform connecting users in Taiwan with licensed therapists for video counseling. Handled all design end-to-end: brand identity, therapist profiles, booking flow, and post-launch iteration. Ran four experiments — two moved the metrics, two didn't. The split became the most useful thing I learned.
Creative Designer
2015 – 2016Responsible for marketing visual design and web production at Edenred Taiwan — e-voucher campaigns, brand collateral, and landing pages built end-to-end in HTML/CSS/jQuery. Also shipped a B2B vendor app for Samsung's partner network in Taiwan: internal-facing, but spec'd and delivered to Samsung's production standards.
